LATEX GLOVES

All BioTex latex gloves are genuinely HYPO-ALLERGENIC having an extremely low protein level. The cause of latex allergies such as, skin irritation, contact dermatitis, hay fever, allergic rhinitis, asthma and even in some cases anaphylactic reactions may cause cardiac arrest.

During the highly refined manufacturing process of BioTex the protein is repeatedly leached out of the latex to surpass the requirements of the ASTM5712 and others.

In an independent LEAP TEST conducted by Professor P.C. Potter the head of the Allergology unit of the UCT LUNG INSTITUTE in Cape Town, South Africa, the following results were obtained.

• Sample 1: 5ug/gram glove
• Sample 2: 8ug/gram glove

The recommended protein content to qualify for an FDA certificate is less than or equal to 50ug protein/gram glove

LATEX AND NITRILE GLOVES

Nitrile exam gloves are manufactured using nitrile rubber. Nitrile is a synthetic rubber copolymer of acrylo nitrile (ACN) and butadiene. Nitrile rubber has been shown to be more resistant to certain oils and acids than natural rubber but not as strong or flexible. It is a good option for those who experience allergies to latex options. Our soft nitrile material gloves are specially formulated to provide the comfort and flexibility of latex with the durability and chemical resistance experienced with nitrile gloves.
